The Castle of Queen Tamara in Ushguli is a unique historical building located in the settlement of Ushguli, Georgia. It is believed that the castle was built during the reign of the famous Queen Tamara in the 12th century.     We joined a group tour to visit this location. From here, there’s a fantastic hiking trail to Shkhara Glacier, which offers stunning views and is very fulfilling. On our return to Tbilisi, we sometimes travel through this area via the picturesque Zagari Pass. Regular jeep services run from Mestia to this place, with prices typically around 300 GEL.

    The view is breathtaking. Definitely a must-see.

    Incredible castle. Definitely worth a visit. It's a great starting point for exploring the area. We spent about 10-15 minutes there, taking some photos. We also met a few friendly dogs that followed us around like they were our guides.
