The church of St George stands in Saguramo. The town is known above all for the house of Ilia Chavchavadze and the protected forest around it, while the church stands away from the centre, closer to the edge.
The Shankevani church of St George stands about three and a quarter kilometres away, the Shankevani naeklesiari a little further, and the Arashenda church four kilometres off. Mtskheta lies down the valley.
Neither the car park nor the entrance is adapted for wheelchairs, and access is sensibly arranged in advance. The rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet, photography inside by permission.
