The site of a church of the Mother of God lies at Levitani near Gagluantubani village in the west of Shida Kartli. The name of the area appears in two forms, Levitana and Levitani, and both are used in records.
A quarter of a kilometre to the north lies the second naeklesiari, that of St. George, and the two are usually visited together. The area lies on the uplands south of the Kura valley.
Access is free at any time, and the path runs across the grass. The stones and masonry deserve care: nothing is touched or taken away.
