The Laghijvari church stands in Didi Keleti village in the west of Shida Kartli. The second part of the name is jvari, a cross, and such names here go to places of long standing veneration.
The village lies in the hills between Khashuri and Kareli, on the boundary of the two districts. A church of St. George of the same village stands a few hundred steps away, and a chapel of St. George is a kilometre and a half off in Didi Khavleti.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and the interior deserves careful treatment.
