Lake Sagamo, also known as Tuman-Gyol, is located in Ninotsminda Municipality, among the natural attractions of the region, at the foot of the Samsari Range, at an elevation of 1,996 metres. The name "Sagamo" translates from Georgian as "evening": it's believed to reference particularly vivid evening reflections on the water.

The lake is tectonic in origin and trapezoidal in shape, with a surface area of 4.8 square kilometres, an average depth of 1.6 metres, and a maximum of 2.3 metres. The southern and southwestern shores are made of andesite, the others gentler. In winter the lake freezes completely for 4.5 months.
It's worth setting realistic expectations honestly. According to several independent reviews, the water stays cold even in summer, not rising above 14ยฐC, and infrastructure around the lake is minimal, with no developed rest areas or facilities. Some visitors note that the place is better appreciated in photographs than in person, as the depth and scale of the water are more modest than one might expect. That said, the quiet, authentically rural atmosphere, according to reviews, makes up for the lack of developed infrastructure for those seeking genuine calm.
