The church of Joachim and Anna stands by Jolevi village and also carries the Abedati name, as does the monastery of the Dormition four and a half kilometres away. Joachim and Anna, the parents of the Mother of God, have long been venerated in Georgia.
Jolevi lies in Martvili municipality, nine kilometres from the district centre. Shrines are many nearby: four kilometres away stands the Marian church of Bandza, and four and a half kilometres off the Abedati monastery and the church of Kvirike and Ivlita by Kvirike.
The church is not open every day, so plan a visit in advance. Dress modestly and keep quiet inside; follow the coordinates.
