The church of St. George stands in Zeda Etseri, a village of Zugdidi municipality. The name Etseri occurs more than once in Samegrelo and Svaneti, and the prefix zeda, meaning upper, tells this village from the lower one.
Zugdidi is about ten kilometres away. Neighbouring shrines are several: three kilometres off stands the church of St. George in Rikhe, and a little further the church of St. Nino in Chkaduashi and the St. George church of Tkaia.
