The church is dedicated to St. George and stands in the village of Tsagera. The name of the village differs from that of the administrative centre of Lechkhumi by a single letter, yet these are different places, thirteen kilometres apart by mountain roads.
Tsagera lies twelve kilometres from Tsageri, in the Lechkhumi mountains. The neighbours around: the ruins of Zogishi stand about two kilometres away, the ruins of Shkhudala three and a half, the salotsavi of Shkhudali four, the church of St. George of Zeda Sairme four.
Similar names in one district are confusing, and on the ground it is easier to follow the coordinates. The road is a mountain one and softens between seasons, and extra time in the hills never hurts. Dress modestly, keep quiet inside, leave offerings untouched. In summer the slopes are dry, in spring the track softens.
