A church of Saint Nino at the Goruli site. Nino brought Christianity to Kartli and is honoured as the enlightener of Georgia; the cross of vine branches bound with her own hair became one of the chief symbols of the Georgian church.
A nakalakari is the site of an ancient town. Here it holds two churches at once: this one and the church of Saint Nicholas half a kilometre away. The area is quiet, and the nearest neighbouring shrines lie five kilometres off and further.
The two churches of the site are seen together, a few minutes apart on foot. Walking the nakalakari needs care and nothing touched: old masonry holds worse than it looks.
