The church of Tetri Giorgi, that is White George, stands in Matani village in Akhmeta Municipality. The hall is very small, a little under five metres by four, laid of unevenly set rubble stone.
In the late nineteen seventies the villagers themselves put the church in order and plastered the building outside. The entrance is made on the south side, and the door is covered by a straight lintel both outside and within.
A semicircular apse adjoins the hall on the east: a window narrowing upwards with a straight lintel is cut into it, a small niche and a hiding niche are made there, and a stone altar table adjoins the wall beneath the window. One more window with a straight lintel is cut in the wall of the hall. The hall together with the sanctuary is covered by a stone vault. Sources assign the building to the late Middle Ages.
