The church of Surb Sarkis stands in the southern part of Vazisubani village in Gurjaani Municipality, in a spot that tradition called Tsiskvili Ubani. Ruins of a church of Saint George stood here, and in the 19th century a new church with an Armenian dedication rose in their place.
The hall building follows the so called Kakhetian manner, with courses of neat cobble alternating with brick. There are three entrances, from the west, south and north. The hall ends in a narrow deep apse flanked by pastophoria that connect both to the altar and to the main space. The altar is raised three steps above the floor of the hall, and chambers of the same size sit above the pastophoria.
The hall is covered by a vault on three pointed arches: two rest on pilasters of the long walls, the third, by the west wall, on corner half columns. A gallery once stood in the western part, and only its wooden posts remain. Inside the walls are plastered and whitewashed, while the east facade is composed of three arches of different heights pierced by windows. Today the walls and the apse survive.
