Kviratskhoveli means the Resurrection of the Lord: kvira is Sunday in Georgian, and churches of that dedication are many across the country.
It stands in Ujarma, only three hundred and forty metres from the parish church of St George. The whole Ujarma district lies around: the fortress above the Iori valley, the Mariamtsminda cave near Mukhrovani about two kilometres away, the ruins and the family churches a little further.
The church is in use and the rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet. On the patronal feast such churches are crowded, and at other times the gates are opened by arrangement with the parish.
