Tarihi bir yere uygun güzel. Kongre salonu çok fazla misafiri ağırlamayabilir ve donanımı zayıf.

A fantastic little museum showcasing the local history and culture, with lovely displays. We particularly enjoyed the photography exhibit by a local mountain guide that highlights the stunning mountains and outdoor sports in the area!

A beautiful collection and a well-designed museum, definitely worth visiting if you're interested in Georgian medieval and Byzantine art! It was quite crowded with students when I went, but normally it should be a peaceful place.

Did you know that people spoke the 'Old Svan' language during the era of Jason and the Golden Fleece? Or that there’s a connection between the Italian Renaissance city-states and the Svaneti Towers? The Svans also stored treasures from ancient Roman, Greek, Persian, Arabian, and Georgian civilizations like a bank, despite ongoing wars.

I wasn't aware of any of this until I visited this excellently designed museum and took a tour led by Svetlana Chartolani. If you're interested in history and culture, this place is a must-visit.

The exhibition may not be extensive (about an hour), but it's packed with diverse information. The collaboration between the state of Georgia, a local architect, and Swiss-French designers gives it a feel more akin to a museum in Berlin than one you might expect in such remote mountains, which turned out to be a historical crossroads.

You can also enjoy a coffee and shop for souvenirs while you're there.

A modern and well-designed museum featuring an interesting collection of local historical artifacts. Don't miss the small library downstairs and the bookshop upstairs. We really enjoyed the outdoor photo exhibition and the old documentaries showcasing Svanetians' lives from a century ago. Tours can be arranged in various languages if booked in advance.
