What to do in the Botanical Garden on a walk with children
Batumi Botanical Garden is not just a collection of plants — it is an entire world where every corner is filled with beauty and the mysteries of nature. Located on the coast of the Black Sea, this garden offers visitors a unique combination of tropical landscapes and local flora. Here, you can immerse yourself in a world of greenery, flowers, and fragrances that will surprise and inspire visitors of all ages. It is also a wonderful educational space for children, where they can learn many new and interesting things about plants and ecosystems.
1. Sit on a bench
There are cozy and secluded benches throughout the botanical garden where you can relax and enjoy nature.

2. Walk along a secret path and listen to the birds
Follow a hidden trail to immerse yourself in a world of birdsong and peaceful connection with nature.

3. Find fish and a grass snake in the pond
Watching animals in the pond is an exciting activity that can keep children engaged for a long time. There are several such places here:
- Ponds in the center of the Botanical Garden
- Fish in the Japanese Garden
- The dolphin fountain at the beginning of the park

4. Look at the sea through the palm trees
A unique opportunity to feel as if you are in a tropical paradise while looking at the sea through palm branches.

5. Smell and study the roses
The garden is home to many varieties of roses. Roses offer a wonderful way to introduce children to the diversity of scents and beauty.

6. Spot a snail
Watching snails is both an engaging and educational activity.

7. Climb the long staircase
There is a long staircase leading to the upper terraces of the garden. Along the way, you may also spot snails and find benches for resting during the climb. It is also a good form of exercise and a way to see the garden from above.

8. Have a snack in a tree
A picnic in a tree is an unforgettable adventure for both children and adults.

9. Drink water from a spring
There is very tasty water throughout the entire territory. Experience the joy of simple things, such as drinking fresh water straight from a spring. It is cold, delicious, and refreshing. Fill up your bottles.
10. Look at Batumi through binoculars
The view of Batumi from the side is one of its calling cards, and observing the surrounding landscape through binoculars can open up new perspectives for children.

11. Hug a giant tree
There are many ancient trees growing here — beautiful, big, and mighty. Feel your connection with nature and imagine that this tree may be more than 100 or 200 years old.

12. Walk across the little bridges
The small bridges in the garden can become a wonderful adventure. There is also a fallen tree that you can use to cross from one side to the other.

13. Eat lyulya kebab
On the Chakvi side, there is a café, and if it is open, you can try something tasty there. Be sure to check the price in advance.

14. Ride through the park in an electric cart
This is a fun and convenient way to get around, allowing you to see more in less time. Both children and adults enjoy riding it.
15. Smell the jasmine
The aroma of jasmine is soothing and creates a sense of calm, while the flower itself provides aesthetic pleasure.

16. Walk along the pier
Near the central area, there is a large pier. We truly enjoyed the sea views and the fresh sea breeze there.

17. Walk through the bamboo forest
This place has a mysterious atmosphere and very few people. It is a unique experience that makes you feel as if you are in a completely different world. My son enjoys walking there the most.

18. Learn interesting facts about plants
The guides at the Botanical Garden will tell you about the Coco Chanel tree, the cork tree, and many other fascinating stories and facts. Feel free to book a tour, but definitely choose a walking one so they can show and explain everything in detail. Learning through nature is a wonderful way to broaden children’s horizons.

19. Eat ice cream
A small treat always brings joy during a walk. Children especially love it. Be sure to check the price in advance.

20. Touch the moss and tree bark
There are many interesting plants and trees in the garden, with different textures and patterns. Tactile contact with nature helps children better understand and appreciate the world around them.

21. Walk along the beach near the old station
Watching sea waves crash against the rocks is mesmerizing and calming. Here, you can also swim, sunbathe, and simply relax.
