On October 6, 2023, Batumi Grand Mall opened— the largest multifunctional shopping center in Western Georgia. The total investment amounted to €20 million, including €7 million raised as a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project positioned itself as a major step in the development of the city’s infrastructure. Amiran Darchidze, the project investor, emphasized the mall’s role in strengthening the city’s economic and social сфere.

Located near the center of Batumi at 29 Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, the Grand Mall building covers more than 24,000 square meters, including four floors of retail space and an underground parking level with 150 parking spaces. The energy-efficient design, which reduces energy consumption by 35%, places it among modern and environmentally responsible buildings.

With the arrival of brands like Zara, Massimo Dutti, Mango, and others—along with the opening of fitness centers, children’s entertainment areas, bowling, and the Cavea cinema—Batumi Grand Mall promises to transform the shopping experience in the region. Rezo Goliashvili, director of Retail Group Georgia, noted that the mall’s opening will be a landmark event for fashion retail, similar to the opening of City Mall Saburtalo in 2019.

According to Goliashvili, Adjara’s strong economic activity, high purchasing power, and the attraction of millions of tourists create ideal conditions for the new mall’s success. Batumi Grand Mall will not only meet residents’ needs for high-quality retail infrastructure but will also reinforce Batumi’s status as a city capable of attracting major investments and delivering a high level of service.
