The appearance of the Museum of Fine Arts of Adjara dates back to 1998. Initially, the museum housed an exhibition dedicated to the October Revolution.

The famous Georgian architect-sculptor Tamara Abakelia worked on the exterior of the building. The museum is distinguished by its impressive scale: in its possession there is 1716 m2 of area.

At the moment, the museum's collection includes paintings by artists from all over the world. Also, in addition to paintings, the museum has a special sculpture exhibition, an engraving exhibition and a presentation of special decorative fabrics. The museum has a children's art studio and a library.

The staff were having a loud karaoke session by the entrance, singing off-key and forcing everyone to listen. It was confusing to see six employees just hanging out instead of working. They were chatting loudly before they started singing.

The collection of artworks upstairs is nice, but unfortunately, some pieces are in bad condition. The Pirosmani painting is noticeably swollen and corroded around the edges. It was also quite hot upstairs since the AC was off, while it was cool downstairs—maybe the staff wanted the cold air for themselves. This can't be good for the paintings.

Several artworks show visible damage, and there are cracks in the paint on the walls, possibly from water damage. Overall, the place is in rough shape, and the staff's behavior is unprofessional and disrespectful.

12 июня 2026 года я с мамой побывала в музее искусств в Батуми. Экскурсию проводила гид Ирина, и нам очень понравилось. Она рассказала о работах грузинских художников и скульпторов. Особенно впечатлила работа Русудан Петвиашвили "Регрет"! Рекомендую всем посетить этот музей!

Экспозиция небольшая, но интересная. Здесь можно увидеть не только картины, но и красивую выставку народных костюмов. Обязательно загляните, это не займет много времени, но оставит приятные впечатления.
