This was probably the most unique and intriguing art installation I encountered in the Caucasus. I loved seeing the fragmented, worn-out soldiers gathered in a circle outside the ruins of a castle.

Pod twierdzą Goris Ciche znajduje się niezwykły pomnik z ośmioma stalowymi postaciami wojowników, które siedzą w kręgu na kamiennych siedziskach. Ta fascynująca instalacja jest częścią krajobrazu Gori od 2009 roku. Pomnik wcześniej można było podziwiać w parku Vake w Tbilisi.

The monument dedicated to the eight soldiers was created at the end of the 20th century. The statues are large and impressive. There aren't many people around, so it's easy to take photos and have a moment of rest.

I really enjoyed this memorial. It has an impressive presence and gives you a sense of history. However, the paths leading to it are in poor condition.

The sculptures forming the Memorial were created by Georgian sculptor Giorgi Ochiauri between 1981 and 1985. Originally, they were placed around the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Vake Park, Tbilisi. In 2009, they were relocated to a semi-hidden spot at the base of the Gori Fort. It's a little disappointing because these statues are quite impressive.
