The Tbilisi State Philharmonic, also known as the Tbilisi Concert Hall, is one of the main concert venues in the capital of Georgia. Situated in the cozy Vera district, it attracts attention with its impressive round building with glazed facades and a fountain in front. Built in 1971 according to the design of the architect I. Chkhenkeli and the designer Sh. Gazashvili, the Philharmonic Society received the State Prize of the Georgian SSR named after Shota Rustaveli.</p>
The main hall of the Philharmonic can accommodate about 2,500 spectators, and the small hall has 750 seats. Concerts of famous Georgian and international performers such as Patricia Kaas, Boris Grebenshchikov, Yuri Shevchuk and many others take place here. The Philharmonic is also the venue for the Tbilisi Jazz Festival and the Tbilisi Jazz Series. Visitors can enjoy performances by the national ballet “Sukhishvili” and the State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of Georgia “Rustavi”.
In front of the entrance to the Philharmonic there is a bronze sculpture “Muse” and a bust of composer Giorgi Tsabadze, which makes this place even more culturally significant. In the evening, the building, along with the musical fountain, is decorated with colored lighting, creating a special atmosphere.
The event poster is available on the official website of the Philharmonic, where you can also buy tickets online. The ticket office is open daily from 11:00 to 19:00, with a break from 14:00 to 15:00.
