One of the most beautiful buildings of the avenue, the "House with an Eagle", was built by merchant Erast Chavchanidze. During the recent large-scale restoration, which the entire south–eastern part of Agmashenebeli Avenue underwent, unique facade decorations and murals in the entrances were restored here (they can be seen with your own eyes - the doors are usually open). These murals illustrate scenes from Shota Rustaveli's poem "The Knight in the Tiger Skin" and were made by specially invited Italian masters.
The house was once famous for its bronze eagle figure on the facade – for a long time it was considered lost, until during restoration it was discovered in the attic under a pile of garbage.
There are especially many good shops, cafes, restaurants, bars in this part of David the Builder Avenue – there is an opportunity to get acquainted not only with the exquisite Tbilisi architecture of the beginning of the last century, but also with traditional Georgian cuisine, as well as explore local shops for good shopping.
