The Museum of Local Lore in Khashuri, located on Meraba Kostava Street, keeps a rich collection of archaeological and ethnographic exhibits. As a result of the excavations, artifacts of the Stone and Iron Ages were discovered.
The central element of the Bronze Age exposition is the axes of the Colchian culture and handmade jewelry. The museum fund consists of more than 100 thousand original items of historical and cultural heritage of Georgia, many of them are periodically exhibited in foreign museums, for example, in the city of Bochum in Germany.
In addition to ancient exhibits in the halls, you can see documentary materials of the XVIII century, paintings by local artists with views of Mikhailovo and Surami, as well as household items: vases, jugs, ceramic and clay products, samples of fabric, clothing, ancient money and tools for hunting.
