The Ivane Javakhishvili House-Museum, founded in 1969, is located in the village of Khovle, Kaspsky district. The estate where the famous Georgian scientist lived and worked is a national monument, it is included in the list of historical heritage of Georgia.
A memorial room has been created in the museum, where personal letters and achievements, photographs, as well as household items, clothes and furniture of a public figure are stored. The exhibition fund allows visitors to get acquainted with the childhood and youth of the professor.
The exposition presents the scientist's scientific library with foreign and domestic books and demonstrates the results of his archaeological excavations on Khovla Mountain. The historian put a lot of effort into the foundation of Tbilisi State University. Ivane Javakhishvili has created a major work “The History of Georgian Law” in 5 volumes.
