Kadari Church is an ancient architectural miracle hidden in a picturesque corner of the Samegrelo region, among valleys and hills, in the secluded village of Dzveli, belonging to the Abasha municipality. This majestic temple has stood tall since the 14th century, maintaining its historical significance in its almost mystical state.
Centuries after its inception, the Church of Kadari reaches us in a dilapidated, but still impressive appearance. The northern and western walls, as well as the vault, powerful witnesses of time, gradually receded into the past, but do not diminish the greatness of this historical monument.
Characterized by a hall structure with a semicircular apse facing east, the Kadari Church was surrounded by extensions, which, unfortunately, have not survived to this day. However, even now the splendor of the temple stuns with its slender structure, covered with a pointed vault and decorated with three narrow windows in the apse.
Penetrating inside, you feel the breath of centuries, encountering small fragments of ancient images that stubbornly retain their character and mystery. Brick walls, firmly integrated into the landscape, tell the story of faith and culture, leaving an unforgettable impression on every visitor.
The Kadari Church is not just a historical site, it is a place where past and present meet, where a spiritual aura intertwines with the grandeur of architecture. By visiting this place, you will immerse yourself in a unique atmosphere of history and beauty, leaving an indelible mark in your memory that will inspire you for many years to come.
