In the northern foothills of the Caucasus, in the peaceful region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, lies the mysterious Truso Gorge. This is a winding valley that flows into the arms of the Tergi River, stretching for 25 kilometers between the main watershed of the Caucasus Range and the Khokhsky Range. From Truso Pass to the small village of Kobi, amazing landscapes and natural wonders await you.
The lowest point of this majestic gorge is at an altitude of 2000 meters, near the village of Kobi. Its beauty lies in its varied shale rock formations, and on the Hohi Ridge you can see exposed diorite intrusions. Upper Pliocene, Pleistocene and Holocene eufusion rocks lie all around you, creating a breathtaking landscape of volcanic cones and lava flows.
But what makes the Truso Gorge truly unique is its richness in hydrocarbonate mineral waters. The Keterisi and Abano springs, abundant in flow rates, are the real pearls of these places. However, despite its natural bounty, the gorge is almost devoid of trees and vegetation, surrounded only by subalpine and alpine grasses.
Although the population of this place has practically disappeared, leaving it in peace and solitude, Truso Gorge attracts those who seek adventure and harmony with nature. Here you can enjoy the silence and beauty of wild nature, plunge into the world of mineral springs and be inspired by the greatness of the Caucasus.
