The Georgian writer Alexander Kazbegi was born in 1848 in the village of Stepantsminda, in his native land he was loved and respected as a significant literary and public figure.
To date, a history museum is located in the former family estate, it will be especially interesting to lovers of the poet's work. The ethnographic exhibition on the ground floor contains archaeological artifacts, documentary materials, tools of labor and everyday life, tableware, clothing and fabrics, samples of applied art, elements of Caucasian culture. The iron gates and the chain of the Bethlem Cave are also kept here.
On the second floor, the exposition illustrates the life of Alexander Kazbegi: his portraits created by local artists, personal notes, letters and developments, a library. The museum has preserved the interior decoration of the living room and the writer's office.
