In the ancient village of Tandzia in the province of Kvemo Kartli today there is an interesting house-museum of the Orbeliani family. In the family estate where the Georgian writer, scientist and diplomat Sulkhan-Saba lived and worked, memorial items, documentary materials and personal belongings of the public figure are kept.
On the territory of the museum complex, founded in 1984, you can see the ruins of an ancient church built at the end of the XVII century. Handwritten originals of literary works and first-printed books of the Georgian writer are of particular value in the exhibition.
Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani is known for his large-scale efforts to bring Georgia and Western Europe closer together in terms of international political ties. The great writer left his heirs and people a rich cultural heritage: collections of fables, dictionaries and prose.
