The Museum of Local Lore in Bolnisi is included in the list of national museums of Georgia and is considered one of the largest, most interesting and informative in the Kvemo-Kartli region. It was founded in 1951, after reconstruction in 2020, modern facilities for visitors, cafes and five large halls for permanent and variable exhibitions appeared in the building.
Viewing of interesting expositions is accompanied by the screening of documentaries about the historical development of the region. Of particular value is the collection demonstrating the culture of Shulaveri-Shoma: ancient artifacts, jugs in the shape of birds, hand axes, handwritten books, tombstones.
The central element of the exhibition is a deer horn, which was used in agriculture in ancient times. There are also separate halls for expositions of the Neolithic and Paleolithic, Trialetic and Kuro-Arak culture, the Bronze Age and the Middle Ages.
