Lagodekhi Local Museum

Lagodekhi Museum of Local Lore, located at st. Vashlovani, 12, Lagodekhi, is a historical institution founded in 1975. The museum is a non-profit legal entity subordinate to the Lagodekhi Center for the Development of Culture and Tourism.
Its collection contains approximately 6,000 artefacts, including stone, clay, bronze and iron objects from the Neolithic to the middle feudal period. The exhibition also covers ethnographic objects of the 19th-20th centuries, copper coins of the 12th century, Georgian silver hulagoid coins of the 14th century, as well as coins of Ilkhan Ojitao of the 19th-20th centuries. The museum displays military equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries, including swords, daggers and daggers. In addition, his collection contains personal archives of Lagodekhi workers, heraldry, photographs and other historical materials.
Open to the public every day except Mondays from 10.00 to 17.00. Ticket prices are 2 GEL for adults and 1 GEL for schoolchildren. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with an identification card), as well as for people with disabilities and refugees.
The museum regularly organizes exhibitions of professional and self-taught artists. In addition, it provides educational programs, including participation in archaeological expeditions, observation of excavations, and lectures on archaeological topics. Active engagement with local schools is highlighted by the museum's collaborations. The museum also produces various publications, such as catalogs and booklets, expanding the accessibility of knowledge about the cultural heritage of Lagodekhi.
