The Numisi Wine Museum and Wine Cellar is located in the Gurjaani municipality, in the village of Velistsikhe, at st. Gogebashvili, 3. This historical museum was founded in 2010 and has private status. Its collection contains more than 5,000 items representing the rich history of Georgian winemaking and ethnography. The permanent exhibition of the museum, called Maran, impresses with a variety of clay, glass, copper and wooden vessels from different eras. These artifacts tell the story of Georgian winemaking and culture over many centuries. The collection also includes jewelry, necklaces, seals, 18th-century brass wine vessels, antique carpets, noodles, home decoration, photographs and much more.
Open daily, except Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Tickets cost 5 GEL, and for those who want to try the wines, a tasting costs 20 GEL. There is also the opportunity to have lunch for 35 GEL. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with an ID card), persons with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees. In addition, the museum presents a permanent ethnographic exhibition, and also organizes educational programs for students with active cooperation with public schools.
