The State Museum of Local Lore in Sagareggio was founded in 1962. Since its establishment, the exhibition fund has been constantly replenished with exhibits found during archaeological excavations in the Kakheti region. The main exposition includes samples of applied art, ethnographic exhibits characteristic of the lifestyle of the local population.
The artifacts presented at the exhibitions date back to the time frame of the Bronze Age, the Iron Age and the Middle Ages. The museum contains ancient Georgian and foreign coins made of gold, bronze, copper and silver. The central element of the exposition of Georgia's cultural heritage in the field of musical art is the drum-diplito instrument. You can also see chain mail, spearheads, military weapons, household and labor tools.
