The house-museum of the famous Georgian director and public figure Kote Marjanishvili, who made a significant contribution to the post-revolutionary development of the Georgian and Russian scenes, is located in the center of Kvareli. His filmography highlights the works “Before the hurricane”, “Krazan" and “Amok".
The childhood of the future director was spent in a two-story house, which in the 1850s was built by Kote's grandfather, Solomon Chavchavadze, with his own efforts. In 1956, a museum was established in the estate, which has an important historical, memorial and architectural value.
The museum preserves the interior decoration of the rooms and contains excerpts of original films that Kote Marjanishvili worked on. The exhibition fund consists of 3,000 exhibits: ethnographic materials, photographs of the director's family, sculptures, portraits, personal correspondence with actors and memorabilia.
