Georgian poet, novelist and literary critic Georgi Leonidze is one of the most successful and popular poets of Georgia. He became famous among the people thanks to fundamental research in the field of the history of Russian journalism.
The writer founded the Ilya Chavchavadze Museum, and for a long time headed the editorial department of the newspaper “Bakhtrioni”. In the 1950s, he headed the Georgian Writers' Union. Georgy Leonidze's book “The Tree of Desires” tells readers about the author's childhood experiences and his memories in his native village of Patardzeuli. The museum is based in the former house of the poet, where he worked on the first poem "Mtskheta".
The exhibition fund presents ethnographic materials, documentary data, photographs and portraits of the author, his personal belongings. The interior of the house is preserved in the style of the 1910s, you can see the furnishings of the living room and study.
