The Dedoplistskaro Museum of Local Lore was founded in 1975. The organization has been cooperating with Archaeological Institutes in Berlin and Halle for many years.
The museum fund stores more than 10 thousand exhibits, the main part of which was found as a result of archaeological excavations in the Kakheti region. The artifacts date from various time frames, ranging from the VI-I centuries BC to late feudalism.
In total, there are several exhibitions in the museum, the numismatic and ethnographic collection are of the greatest value. It is worth paying attention to the Sassanid silver coins, Georgian, German and Russian coins, stone seals, handmade jewelry, kizik carpets, fabric samples embroidered with gold qajars.
Also in the exhibition hall there are monuments of cultural heritage of Georgia, in particular, paintings by local artists of the XX century: Robert Sturua, Tordia and Popiashvili.
