Deep in the heart of the Imereti region of Georgia, in the municipality of Tskhaltubo, lies the Cave of Prometheus. Its length reaches 1.8 kilometers, going to a depth of 40 meters underground.
This underground world, which is more than 60-70 million years old, never ceases to amaze with its natural sophistication. The karst formation, adorned with exquisite stalactites and stalagmites, is designed to captivate your imagination and enrich your experience.
Filled with impressions, the path leads you to the village of Kumistavi, where the Prometheus Cave is located, immersed in grace in the Kuma River basin. This underground is striking in its diversity: there are only 22 halls, of which only 6 are open to tourists. A walk through its depths for 1420 meters will give you the opportunity to appreciate the greatness of nature and even take an exciting trip on a ship sailing along the clear waters of the river.
Here, in the Cave of Prometheus, you will encounter real works of art of nature - stalactites and stalagmites, whose forms seem forged from a fairy tale. Your journey will be filled with "petrified waterfalls", "hanging stone curtains", helectites, calcite smudges and other organic wonders.
We invite you to plunge into this unique world, where history, nature and the greatness of time merge. Prometheus' Cave will leave unforgettable imprints on your memories and inspire you to new adventures.
