Kolkheti National Park is a unique natural area, located on the shores of the Black Sea and enveloping the magical lake Paliastomi. It takes its place in the heart of Georgia, covering the lands of five administrative districts and two historical regions - Samegrelo and Guria, representing a mosaic of diverse landscapes and rich ecosystems.
Created to preserve the unique complex of wildlife characteristic of the Colchis lowland, the park protects rare species of flora and fauna, aiming not only to protect, but also to study this amazing natural world. On an expanse of 44 thousand hectares you can find picturesque swamps, ancient forests and clear waters, including a significant sea area of the Black Sea.
International recognition has come to the park with inclusion in the IUCN list of protected areas and under the auspices of the Ramsar Convention, confirming its importance for the conservation of migratory and waterfowl.
