The Lanchkhuti Museum of Local Lore, founded in 1976, offers locals and visitors of Georgia to get acquainted with the history of the Colchis lowland. The exhibition fund has hundreds of exhibits about the natural and archaeological aspects of Georgian history: samples of peat, minerals, oil, as well as precious stones.
Ancient objects of art and folk art, which are stored in the ethnographic hall, reflect the travels and trips of Gurian riders to foreign countries. The expositions date from the II-I millennium BC to the present day.
Special attention should be paid to pottery, tools of the Cholipa region, bronze armor and other materials of the feudal era. A separate hall of the museum contains documentary records, photographs and data on significant figures of Guria, including the famous Princes Shalikashvili and Gurieli.
