The museum of the Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze, founded in 1988, is located in the village of Hidistavi, directly opposite the house of his grandparents. Currently, the descendants of the publicist live in the Chokhataur district, like Dumbadze himself, they love this place very much. In the 1970s, the writer was particularly famous for the novels “I, Grandma, Iliko and Illarion”, “I see the Sun” and “Sunny Night".
In addition, he is the author of the novels "Kukaracha", the comedy stories "The Sun", "The Dog" and poems.
Many of his creations were translated into foreign languages. Based on Dumbadze's works, feature films were shot and plays were staged in theaters, for which he was awarded the Shota Rustaveli State Prize.
The memorial fund of the museum exhibits more than 400 exhibits from the life and work of the Georgian author: personal notes, letters, photographs, books, documents and antique items.
