In the heart of the Keda municipality in Georgia, at 10 Tbel Abuseridze Street, there is a unique Keda Historical Museum, founded in 1999. A non-profit cultural center, the museum is an important place to study the history and culture of the region.
The museum's collection includes 823 exhibits, including archaeological finds, numismatic collections, objects of Adjarian life and ethnography, as well as geological samples. In addition, the museum displays paintings and handicrafts by local artists, documents and photographs, which together give a complete picture of the life and history of the region.
The museum is open to visitors every day except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members, people with disabilities and refugees upon presentation of appropriate identification documents.
The museum is also actively involved in educational activities, conducting programs such as “Let's Know the Georgian Language” and “Integration Lessons in the Museum.” In addition, the museum organizes periodic exhibitions of its collections in schools and other cultural institutions, promoting knowledge about the cultural heritage of the region.
