A mural called “Girl with a Cat” by Serbian artist Artez was created in 2020 as part of the KIU Mural Fest. This bright art object adorns the end of the student dormitory building on the territory of the International University in Kutaisi.
The painting depicts a young woman immersed in reading a book, holding a cup of drink in her hands. The composition stands out for its details: a cat sits comfortably on the girl’s lap, leaning curiously over the pages of the book. Warm, pastel shades combined with bright abstract background elements create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, emphasizing the close bond between a person and his pet.
The artist masterfully integrated the architectural elements of the building into his work: the windows of the building become part of the scene, creating the illusion that the world inside the painting and the real world are merging together.
