    What a tourist needs to know about Stadler

    • It consists of 4 double-decker cars, the fourth car is of the 1st class.
    • In the first class, spacious armchairs with a large headrest and a footrest.
    • There are sockets.
    • Wi-Fi is free, the speed is high. The signal disappears in the tunnels.
    • There is a vending machine with drinks and chips. Food is not offered, you need to take it with you. Water is free for 1st class passengers.
    • The air conditioner is working.
    • Security is present.
    • The toilet is on the ground floor.
    • Smoking is prohibited in the cars.

    There are 116 seats in the first car, seats 1-53 on the ground floor, with 1 – 33 seats arranged in three seats in a row, 34 – 53 in two. On the second floor, the chairs numbered 54-77 are arranged two in a row, the rest – three.

    The second and third cars have 95 seats, the seating arrangement is the same as in the first. But the fourth car is with wide seats for 76 seats, where the second floor is occupied by rooms from 50 to 71. Both floors have two seats in a row.

    Getting to Batumi by electric train

    A double-decker train runs non-stop from Georgia’s capital to the coast at a speed of 120 km/h. The journey to Batumi takes about 5.5 hours. The first stop is Ureki, then Kobuleti, and the next one is the final stop.

    Stadler schedule: daily, morning and evening in both directions.
    From Tbilisi: departures at 08:00 and 17:35.
    From Batumi: departures at 07:30 and 17:55.

    To board the train, you must present your international passport, a child’s birth certificate (if traveling with children), and your boarding pass (booking code).

    Lost tickets cannot be reissued, and you will not be allowed on board without a passport.

    The high-speed train departs from Tbilisi Railway Station, located in the center of Station Square. There is a public transport stop and a metro station nearby, and you can also get there by taxi.

    The modern station building offers comfortable facilities for passengers: restrooms, luggage storage, cafés, and various shops. To access the platform, find the glass door on the second floor of the building.

    The final stop is the new railway station in Batumi. Please note that the Makhinjauri Batumi station is currently not operating.

    How to buy a ticket to Batumi on the Stadler

    Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices of railway stations and online. When buying online through the site, you cannot choose a place, they are assigned automatically in order. When buying through the mobile app, a choice of seats is available for an additional fee.

    Buy tickets in advance, as they are in great demand during the tourist season and there are no empty seats on the day of departure.

    After the online payment, the booking code will appear. You can print it, take a picture or upload it to your phone. When boarding, it is enough to show a photo or call the code, along with your passport.

    When buying at the ticket offices, a paper boarding pass is issued. It cannot be lost or destroyed. It cannot be replaced.

    The cost of tickets on the Stadler train

    Depending on the class and season, the cost may vary. In summer, the following prices apply:

    • 1st class:
      • adult 61 GEL;
      • children's 31 GEL;
    • 2nd class:
      • adult 25 GEL;
      • children's 13 GEL;

    In winter, the cost of the first class is reduced to 43 GEL, the second class – up to 30 GEL. Travel is free for children under 5 years old without a separate seat. Over 10 years old, an adult ticket is purchased.

    You can return the ticket no more than 3 hours before departure. The refund amount will depend on the remaining time before the train departs.
