The Rocky Pillars of Sahizari
On the right bank of the Terek River, on the northern slope of Mt. Kabargin, there are erosion pillars with an interesting geological structure, which were formed as a result of abundant sedimentation. The population calls these places "the rocky pillars of Sakhiznari". The word "Sahiznari" means "shelter" in Georgian. In the years of foreign invasions, local residents took refuge with their families in the caves in the rocks.
Mount Kabardzhina, located on the spur of the Main Caucasus Range, on the watershed of the rivers Terek and Snotskali, is an old extinct volcano (at an altitude of 3141 m). The western slope of the mountain rests on the bank of the Terek.
A remarkable historical monument is a stone tower of the 10th-12th centuries. The views from here are spectacular: the Tkarshet lava flow is clearly visible from the west, and Mount Kabardjina is visible from the south. From the north is the village Stepantsminda, over which the top of Kuro hangs, and from the east is the valley of Terkhena and fragments of Mount Milion.
