The Batumi Archaeological Museum is one of the oldest operating museums in Georgia. It was opened to the public in 1994, although the Ajarian excavations were carried out a hundred years before the discovery.
In 2014, the museum was closed for global repairs, and a unique collection of jewelry was brought in. Currently, the museum is truly thriving, and its collection includes more than 22,000 exhibits from different eras.
On the ground floor you can find a collection of exhibits from ancient times and the Middle Ages, and on the second floor - items that belong to the Paleolithic and Mesolithic. Almost all the results of long-term Ajarian excavations and expeditions are presented here.
